Danielle Harel, MSW, PhD
Dr. Danielle Harel is the co-creator of the Somatica® Method and the co-founder of the Somatica Institute. She has a Ph.D. in Human Sexuality (DHS), a graduate degree in Clinical Social Work (MSW), and a Bachelors (BA) degree in Psychology and Educational Counseling.
As a somatic sexologist, professor, and author, Danielle has spent the last 20 years resolving her clients’ most intimate challenges, training sex & relationship coaches, and empowering people to step into their fullest potential. Drawing from her extensive training in sexology, psychology, and body-based modalities like Hakomi, attachment theory, character theory, and neuro-patterning, she helps people radically transform their relationships, sexuality, and self-awareness.
In addition to leading Somatica’s Advanced and Mastery trainings, Danielle recently stepped into a new role as one of the leading sexologists of Virgin Island, a powerful series airing on Channel 4 in the UK. The show brings the Somatica Method to television for the first time, offering a candid look at how Danielle and co-founder Celeste Hirschman help participants reclaim their confidence, reconnect with desire, and experience embodied transformation through Somatic coaching.
Previously, she published original research on Orgasmic Birth and three books with Celeste Hirschman: Confidence, Making Love Real, and Coming Together.
Danielle has written extensively on sex, relationships, and dating, and is frequently cited as an expert in the media.
