Who We Are
Sex and relationship coaches Danielle Harel, Ph.D., and Celeste Hirschman, M.A., founded the Somatica Institute in 2010 to teach both professional coaches and people on personal growth journeys the Somatica Method — a groundbreaking, experiential approach to transformation through pleasure, connection, and embodied learning.
In addition to co-authoring three influential books (Coming Together, Making Love Real and Confidence) and speaking on topics such as sexless marriages, orgasms, kink, intimacy, and body image, Celeste and Danielle have most recently brought their work to the screen as the leading sexologist of Virgin Island, a Channel 4 series exploring modern sexuality and the power of somatic therapy in supporting a group of inexperienced young adults to develop skills around intimacy and sex. The show offers an unfiltered look at their dynamic coaching approach, helping a global audience understand what true emotional and erotic transformation can look like.
They have been a resource to a variety of top publications, including:
